It's early August and for those who have another year of institutionalized learning staring them in the face, the carefree days of summer are almost all behind them. This is the time of the year for those going back to school to run through a check list to make sure that they have everything they need to help them succeed during the the 2017-2018 academic year. One of those helpful tools would be a high-end tablet. Sure enough, Microsoft is now offering $80 (or 10%) off the price of a selected Microsoft Surface Pro.

The model on sale carries an Intel Core m3 processor with a 128GB Solid State Drive and 4GB of RAM. Normally priced at $799, "eligible students, faculty or staff at Universities and colleges" can reduce the price from $799 to $719. That's the way to get the new school season to kick off.

The Surface Pro features a 12.3-inch PixelSense display with an 1824 x 2736 resolution. The slate comes with an 8MP rear-facing camera, a pair of microphones, and a 5MP front-facing shooter. The included battery is said to provide up to 13.5-hours of video playback, and the Surface Pen accessory (which you might want to use to help you take notes in class) will run you extra. At the Office Depot, a silver Surface Pen will cost you $59.99. A platinum model is being offered by the Microsoft Store for $99.99.
