Review Kickstarter project "Eye" allows you to run an Android phone on your Apple iPhone

Kickstarter project "Eye" has just eclipsed its goal of raising $95,000. With 32 days to go, the Apple iPhone case has raised over $97,000. So why is there so much excitement over a case for the iPhone? Because the back of it features a separate screen and Android smartphone. While the iPhone's speakers, cameras and microphone are shared with the Siamese twin on the rear of the case, every other part of the Android phone that comes with the "Eye" is completely separate from the iOS powered handset.

The screen on back features a 5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 (FHD). The extra phone is powered by Android 7.1. Under the hood is a Helio P20 chipset with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T880 MP2 900MHz GPU. There is an always-on display, support for wireless charging, and a 2800mAh battery. Other features include 3GB of RAM, 16GB of native storage, a 256GB capacity microSD slot, dual SIM Slots, NFC capabilities and yes, a 3.5mm headphone jack. The "Eye" is available in two sizes. One fits the Apple iPhone 6, Apple iPhone 6s and Apple iPhone 7. The larger size fits the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, Apple iPhone 6s Plus and Apple iPhone 7 Plus.

When using the iPhone, the battery on the "Eye" is not used, and vice versa. Right now, you can pledge $129 to get a case with 4G connectivity that will ship in September. If you want to get the case a month earlier, pledging $20 more will get it in your hands 30 days earlier. The retail price of this version of the case is $229.

Even though the case has already met its funding goal, if the amount raised hits $500,000, the case will feature a 10,000mAh battery allowing you to use it as a power bank. At $3 million, the case will have an IP67 certification rating. At $6 million, it will double boot with Ubuntu, and at $15 million it will offer an optional triple boot feature with Ubuntu and Windows 10 Mobile.
